Jealousy is always ugly.

And the telethon comment was beyond stupid. The Mayor of New Orleans is black and is as responsible, hell more responsible, for the horror of New Orleans (and I'm not just talking about the hurricane and its effects) as Bush.

I've been there and to see the way the homeless there are not just tolerated by the local gov't but even encouraged in cases because many of them “perform” for the tourists is beyond disgusting.

But, given that Nagin's spent seemingly more time here in Dallas since the hurricane than in LA, it's not a shock that the people of N.O. were overlooked by their local gov't for so long.

Err, more to the topic. I don't mind white singers adopting black music. It's been done that way, and to great success, long before rap and hip hop came along.

What bothers me more are the white kids who try and act black. That part I agree should be put to rest already. It just makes them look retarded. It's one thing if you are a white kid living in downtown Detroit and speak the way everyone else around you does. It's another when you grow up in the Suburbs and there's maybe a handful of black folks who are more than likely speaking like every other suburbanite.

As a white guy who supposedly gets all the breaks, hates all other “races”, has infinite advantages, etc., I really feel a lot of racism from “minorities” (they aren't minorities, which is fine, where I live but are still called minorities), which is sad. For example, some Asians at Waterloo REFUSE to sit anywhere near a white guy, let alone hang out with him. Or black guys can make jokes about white guys and be funny but if white guys do the reverse, they're racist.

It is all crazy. Why can't we all just be *people* and not care who is black, white, European, Asian, etc.?

And, so, getting on topic, I don't even have any clue how skin colour fits into music, other than certain types of people grow up in certain conditions or cultures that make them more receptive or interested in certain types of music, made by the same types of people.

But if, for some reason beyond my comprehension, some white guy is interested in the filth that is rap music, let him swear and wave his hands around the screen while flashing pictures of women in skimpy clothing all he wants.

Errr... wanted to make clear that it is from SOME people belonging to those minorities. I'd say more Asians at Waterloo are racist against whites than whites are racist against Asians but it is still a small (but noticeable) minority of the total population!
