Are we having fun in
Battlefield 2? Oh, yes we
are
Despite the
long list of faults it's an enjoyable game. Negatives include the obviously-gimped-to-promote-gamespy server browser and the fact to get it to run at my native resolution I had to play
fiddly with the command line. Also... I know who produced it and I know who created it, so stop shoving it in my face every time I go through the slow-as-molasses start-up.
But, other than that, it's fun.
(Oh, apart from the Support gun, which is frankly, pants. I once found an enemy sitting in an Anti-Aircraft battery, unloaded two clips on him from a couple of feet away - he then got up an shot me...)
I really hate that EA Games: Challenge Everything. I was playing The Sim 2 yesterday and sat my Sim down to play a game on his PC. The challege everything logo actually flashed by and played a little sound clip. Ugh!
Many games with long intros usually have a -nointro command or something. Hunting around on the internet turns up nothing, though. Although, I didn't look very hard. It seems some people are just renaming the movie files so they don't load.
