I dunno.. I wonder sometimes if the MMO industry will crash like the video game industry did in the 80s. Then again, MMO players are so mentally deranged that they don't seem to care about doing the same quests over and over, so maybe we'll just keep seeing fantasy themed MMOs for the next 50 years (that's about the time when WWIII will be, warp drive invented, Vulcans come, etc.).
WoW has 3 million subscribers. Fantasy-themed MMOs are just getting started. :/
